What's new?
Aaron's new band, Petrichor, debuted in February 2009 with concerts in Washington, DC and Brooklyn, NY. The group performs original songs that blur the boundaries between rock and chamber music. Recordings (and links to video) are available on the sounds page. Aaron has won a 2009 ASCAP Foundation Jazz Composer Award for the work Confused Blues! He previously won a 2006 ASCAP Foundation Young Composer Award for his Concertino for Clarinet. On other fronts, Aaron has signed on with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra to write program notes for their 2008-09 concert seasons. He continues to serve as Program Annotator for the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and Columbia Artist Management, Inc. artists such as Anne-Sophie Mutter and the Kirov Orchestra. The Palisades Virtuosi (NJ) recently commissioned and performed a new work by Aaron, Be Aware of Wonder. Five years ago, the group's first commissioned work was Aaron's Lepidopterology [2003]. They have since recorded that piece for Albany Records - check it out on iTunes! |
